More information

Elizabeth I carved oak chest of small proportions, probably intended for a child, with a carved facade with three roses within a framed strapwork and initials S T flanking the lockplate. To one side there is a name and date punch decorated :I.PRINE 1557. This is probably the name and birth year of the owner of the chest and not the year in which the chest was made.
