Charles I joined oak Upholders backstool covered with the original Turkeywork fabric.
Very little is known about the production of Turkeywork, though it must have been produced on a widespread scale, on both a professional and amateur basis. One of the centres of full scale production would appear to have been in Norwich, but small factories must have existed in London and elsewhere. Victor Chinnery, Oak furniture the British tradition.
