Standing 9&#8243; off the floor, this chest is in remarkably good condition, with its original grey untouched surface with a very rich deep red colour underneath, which is typical to the east Devon region. Carved with a rosette panel with leafy decoration, flanked by guilloche carved stiles, a deep channel moulding to the bottom with stamp decoration and a beautifully laid out nulled frieze which is consistent in Elizabethan design of the Devon area.
