Description

17th century elm spice drawers, twelve drawers each carved with lunettes and crocket designs, the central drawer dated 1692.

Spices and herbs were very important in English cuisine before the present century, whether as flavourings, preservatives or medicines, and a well stocked spice cupboard was an asset to the conscientious housewife. Victor Chinnery Oak furniture the British tradition.
