Description

Charles I boarded oak mural spindle livery wall cupboard, with a joined front frame and door with turned spindles with the stiles carved with sun flower motifs and S-scrolled rails.

Inventories frequently note a livery cupboard in the bedchamber, and it was no doubt customary for the individual to store their livery here overnight: Victor Chinnery – Oak furniture the British tradition
