Description

Charles II boarded oak desk box with carved S-scrolled front board and lockplate with an egg and dart applied moulding.

The distinctive feature of a desk is the provision of a sloping surface on which a book or paper may be placed for reading or writing: Victor Chinney Oak furniture the British Tradition.
