Description
Charles II double action gate leg table of rare form. The oval drop leaf top above two drawers with applied mouldings raised on bobbin turned legs joined by plain stretcher rails and a H-shaped conforming stretcher with a further central upright support, together with double gates. The complete frame sitting on sledge – type feet.
A near identical table other than the turned sections sold for £9100 in Bonhams 19th April sale 2012. This table is certainly from the same workshop as table shown here.
