Description

Charles II joined oak armchair, the back rest panel carved with a double S-scroll of simple form with the cresting rail carved with plumed feathers and lunettes. The simple baluster turned legs joined by plain lower stretcher rails and plain seat rails. The chair would have originally been a roped seat but this was clearly changed very early in its life as the seat board has been with this chair for most of its life.

Superb deep colour and surface
