Description

Charles II oak and ash carved box of small size, carved with quatrefoil and punchwork decoration.

Illustrated: Bible Boxes, English oak table boxes, slopes, desks and cabinets of the 16th and 17th centuries, a catalogue of an exhibition to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of BADA 1918 – 1978.

Provenance: Nyetimber Manor, sold Sothebys lot number 1048, purchased by Bernard Gulley Antiques.
