Description

Charles I oak table cupboard of extremely rare form, the cupboard with two doors with applied arcading and split turned decoration within a frame, beneath this a single drawer with applied mouldings and split turnings. The open spindle gallery with more split turnings.

Similar fixed woodwork in St John College, Oxford: fig 74 and 75 page 63 in M Jourdain English Decoration and Furniture of the early Renaissance 1500 – 1650.
