Description

Rare Charles II oak painted and stained geometric chest of drawers, with a thin boarded top above four geometric mitre moulded long drawers, each enlivened by what appears to be original black and red stained ground between the mouldings, the top drawer flanked by linear cut corbels.

This rare chest of drawers is near identical to a chest sold in Bonham’s, Jan 14 oak sale and once the property of Danny Robinson, lot number 270 and sold for £11,875. and is probably made by the same hand.

Our chest has a part replaced top board and now missing the applied mouldings.
