Description

Early 16th century oak iron bound chest, of large proportions with wrought iron shaped straps and three locks and carrying handles.

Henry VIII inventories mention many of these chests as yron chestes throughout the inventory, most would have been used for storage of valuable goods and important fabrics for transportation from one palace to another
