Description

Charles I joined oak and carved armchair, with large single back panel carved with botanical imagery, above the gadrooned carved top rail supporting the S-scrolled cresting.

The trapezium shaped seat typical of the West country caqueteuse armchairs found in Salisbury.

A chair from the same workshop sold in Bonhams 30th April 2014 oak sale, lot number 153 for £8125 and originally came from the Binns collection.
