James I carved joined oak armchair with fan cresting rail, possibly West country. The back panel with an applied architectural designed frame with egg and dart and blank arcading with a central lozenge carved panel, the upper rail carved with blank arcading (nulling) as is the seat rail. Interesting note: the arms have a simple egg and dart carving running down each side, original to the chair. Back legs tipped, and front bun feet later.
