Description
Early 16th century joined oak Tudor armchair. This chair now in restored condition is an extremely rare survival of English domestic furniture pre dating Henry VIII’s reformation of the church! In the last picture you can see how the chair was found in an unrestored condition. Restoration was important for the future survival of this great chair. Horizontal un-carved linenfold panels, plain twin panelled back and flat hand rest boards. The finials, seat board,part of arms, all lower stretcher rails and feet to about 7″ up restored.
