Elizabeth I enclosed armchair

Elizabeth I oak carved enclosed armchair. The plain framed back rest panel with gadrooned and scrolled frieze rail, the armrests unusual form of being joined into the front uprights with a solid panel beneath enclosing the seated area to prevent drafts around the waist when seated. The baluster turns legs joined by simple moulded lower stretcher rails and similar seat rails.
