Description
Elizabeth I carved oak and inlaid armchair, Exeter. Â The arcaded back panel carved with egg and dart decoration with floral spandrels and leafy supports surrounding the crudely applied botanical inlaid designs.
Above the arcaded panel is a typical Exeter feature, the chain link with ornate S-scrolled cresting flanking the face of a beast. The simple gun barrel turned column supports of the seat and armrests again typical of the Exeter workshops. Deep red surface.
