Description
Elizabeth I oak carved cup and cover baluster trestle table possibly from the dais end of an open hall. The gadrooned and acanthus carved trestle with huge scrolled carved supports at the base and gadrooned frieze rails with a three board cleated top. The base boards part of the original floor it was attached to.
This table is most certainly made by the same hand as the Mostyn Hall table illustrated in Richard Bebb’s book Welsh Furniture 1250 – 1950, page 231, plate 379.
