Elizabeth I tester bedstead. The headboard with two large applied arcades with the columns in the form of atlantes with a floral arcade above, both arcades being flanked by three atlantes and two outer flute playing satyrs. Above this the two inlaid panels with rampant lions holding a flag pole, flanked by grotesque masks. The tester being supported by the huge cup and cover carved posts. The tester carved with lozenges typical of Yorkshire work with a central inlaid boss with a lions mask.

Bedsteads of this size and quality were usually found in the great houses of the Elizabethan period
