Description

Elizabeth I oak and marquetry inlaid canted court cupboard, the four cup and cover supports carved with S-scrolls, leafy and shell designs. The canted cupboard section with three inlaid panels of botanical imagery set within deep perspective designed frames carved with scrolled patterns typical of the West country. Below the drawer carved with Double S-scrolls entwined with three grotesque masks. The frieze rail with marquetry inlay of floral scrolls with human masks.

A very similar example (pictured here) is in Trerice House, Cornwall. National Trust.
