Description

Elizabeth I joined oak and carved livery cupboard of high quality. The upper section with cupboard, the panel in the door later framed, being flanked by narrow vertical decorated panels, the frieze rail, mid rail and lower stretcher rail carved with nulled decoration. The four baluster turned column supports in an uncommon style, the upper supports with Ionic capitals and beneath a quarterfoil carved window.

Furniture of this type would have been made for a high status client and placed in a great room to display their wealth.
