Description

Elizabeth I joined oak chest of simple design, four panelled front and single panel sides, with a planked lid with applied moulding to the perimeter. Although very simple this chest is very elegant, a similar example sold in the John Fardon sale (Christies 1st May 1996) lot 271. Georgian escutcheon.
