Description
English poplar and leather iron bound standard, with carrying handles to each side and two locks to the front with barber pole pattern cut into fixings of lock plate, circa 1480/ 1500. A near identical example is in Penelope Eames 1977 Furniture History, plate 52, which is traditionally associated with lady Margaret Beaufort and is in Westminster Abbey library.
