Description

15th century oak painted box, dovetail boarded construction carved with tracery to the front board and with the original painted decoration throughout the box. The sides painted with the initials MA on the left side and IHS on the right side. The box has its complete original iron lock plate, hasp, hinges and handle. The hasp with a full length figure of long haired male holding a bottle or offering.

The interior reveals an original painted lid with two bishop saints flanking a monstrance.
