Early Tudor ash, elm and oak trestle table of huge proportions. The planked top on trestle supports joined by a central stretcher. A near identical example is found in Christchurch Mansion in Ipswich. The last three examples known: Sotheby's sold a French example for £128,000 Haute Epoque sale 29th October 2003, London. Sotheby's sold a French example for £478,400 Haute Epoque sale 31 October 2006, London. Bruno Perrier collection Tajan, Paris, Beech and oak example in April 1992 sold for £70,000. Provenance: Purchased by Marhamchurch Antiques in 2002 from Graham Mills at Pilgrim Antiques, Honiton. Graham had purchased the table from a Manor House close to Sidmouth, Devon. Then sold by Marhamchurch Antiques to a private client in Somerset. Last image shown is the Christchurch Mansion table.

Genuine English tables of this type and period are extremely rare and hardly ever come onto the market.
