Description

James I joined oak press cupboard of rare form. The lower section of two doors carved with guilloche design and interlaced designs, the upper section with a recessed cupboard section to three sides with two doors with carved interlaced roundels, the top section supported by the two baluster turned columns. The frieze rails carved with large leafy lunettes with the front central panel being a hinged door and flanked by applied leafy corbels. Each side at the top there are secret compartments with the outer front corbels removable to reveal the side compartments. Old repairs and restoration.
