Important oak carved Royal heraldic badges of James I of England. The Union of the Crowns was symbolised in James's personal royal heraldic badge after 1603, the Tudor rose and the Scottish thistle with the royal crown. These heraldic arms are carved on both sides, with the rear having simpler strap work designs.
