Description

James I oak carved three tier cup-board, the cup and cover supports carved with leafy design, joined by moulded lower rails and carved double S-scrolled frieze rails with a similar carved central drawer.

There can no doubt that the court cup-board existed primarily as a vehicle for display. Victor Chinnery
