Description

James II pair of ‘his” and ‘her’ larger and smaller armchairs, with carved back rest panels with double S-scrolls and the date 1690 above each chair. The large S-scrolled cresting rails and ears, typical of Yorkshire.

Pairs of armchairs from this period are rare.
