Description

James I joined oak armchair, with deep moulded geometric design and above with double S-scrolled frieze rail. The seat rail moulded and carved with repeating chain link decoration.

Similar example illustrated in Tobias Jellinek Early British Chairs and Seats 1500 to 1700, plate 22 page 53.
