Description

English Iron bound chest probably from East Anglia, many similar chests are found in Suffolk churches. This one with three locks to the front and carrying handles on each end. later floor board. Oak and Deal.

These chests were probably made on the Continent and exported in the late 15th century to England for use in churches. This chest has a typical English lock and haspe, probaby added once it came into England.
