Description

Pair of Charles I oak carved and inlaid chests of the best quality, each chest with three panels of arcades carved with guilloche and inlaid with geometric interlaced designs, the stiles carved with leafy decoration and rails carved with a chain guilloche. Both chests with leafy spandrels.

A chest of near identical carving and from the same workshop sold in Christie’s London on the 16th March 2016, lot number 89. for £11,250.
