Description
A pair of Renaissance bronze pricket candlesticks, each cast with a circular stepped foot supporting a finely turned baluster stem surmounted by a broad drip-pan and integral tapering candle spike. Elegant in proportion and restrained in ornament, the candlesticks embody the architectural clarity characteristic of late Renaissance metalwork.
The surfaces display a deep, naturally developed patina together with traces of historic candle use preserved within the drip-pans. Their compact scale and refined turning suggest production for a private chapel, sacristy, or domestic devotional interior rather than for a large ecclesiastical setting.
