Description

This joined oak armchair is of architectural quality, with it’s brickwork arcaded centre panel and elaborately ornamented seat frieze and heavy channel moulded bottom stretcher rails. The ornament on this chair is comparable to a pulpit in Aylsham church, Norfolk circa 1637 and also a chest in Strangers Hall, Norwich which is dated 1637.

Restorations: upper front of both arms repaired, rear right hand leg tipped.
