Description

16th century polychrome decorated and parcel gilt pine wall niche. The scalloped dome beneath leaf and berry carved spandrels, above an interior of seven slender planks applied with edge mouldings decorated with renaissance foliate and figural motifs, and botanical imagery.

Note: this is a type of niche that would have been in Henry VIII’s palaces, designed and made by foreign workers.
