Description

Carles I elm boarded chest. Carved with botanical imagery of the very best quality, with thistles, flowers,vine and leaf flanking the central lock plate which is set within a shield and dated 1645.

A near identical chest is illustrated in Victor Chinnery’s Oak Furnture, page 106, figure 2:110.

Rare collector’s piece.
