Description

Charles II joined oak livery cupboard, the front with central door carved with leafy designs being flanked by S-scrolled arcades with leafy decoration. The baluster turned legs joined by moulded lower stretcher rails with a mid rail carved with lunettes and upper frieze rail carved with leafy designed lunettes.

A good deal of thought and energy has been expended in attempts to identify the exact meaning of the term livery cupboard. Victor Chinnery, Oak furniture the British tradition.
