Description

Elizabeth I oak form with six fluted legs joined by plain lower stretcher rails, with wide frieze rails carved with guilloche.

Make no mistake forms of this type are rare, Tobias Jellinek, Early British Chairs and seats 1500 to 1700, quotes on page 200. ‘ I have only come across a single example of a joined form with fluted legs’
