Charles II joined oak and carved double sided press cupboard of rare form. Designed as a room divider. The front panelled with the lower cupboards carved with lozenge designs and upper cupboards carved with bird decoration and frieze rail carved with initials T D E and dated 1670. The back panelled like the sides with a single door.

Victor Chinnery mentions Lake District yeoman farmhouses frequently used room dividers using press cupboards, beds, salt and spice cupboards.
