Description
Elizabeth I oak carved child’s high chair of high quality. The back panel carved with four large lunettes creating a geometric design, the rails above and below the panel deep channel moulded with punched decoration. The seat rails have large single lunettes. The baluster leg supports joined by plain stretcher rails.
A similar high chair most possibly from the same workshop is illustrated in Tobias Jellinek, Early British chairs and seats page 148, plate 166.
