Description

Elizabeth I oak carved overmantel, two large applied arcaded panels carved with guilloche and leafy designs, applied within the arch are two caryatids in the form of angels, these being flanked by “Atlantes and a central Caryatid”.

Caryatid – a formalised draped female figure, serving as a pillar or pilaster
