Henry VIII joined oak armchair, twin panelled back with plain panels, and huge flat arm rests moulded on the outer edges. The two front legs with cut out stop chamfer's. Stamped R H to each leg. In an old condition with a pair of 19th century pine braces stoping the chair from racking. The lower stretcher rails now moved up 4" and replaced. (front one loose) English chairs that pre date 1540 are extremely rare and very rarely come to the market, most examples are in a similar condition.
