More information

Elizabeth I carved oak box, no ordinary box at that either. This box shows many early features, the lid with its carved rope twist to the front edge, with it's original cleats which also seconds as its hinges. The front carving quite possibly representations of alchemical symbols of transmission. The box also has a layer of original red polychromy throughout.
