Description
Elizabeth I boarded oak chest,Somerset. Carved with double heart motifs framed within a guilloche carved pattern. Original black polychromy applied to the carved sections. The right hand side boarded support has lost it original height up to the bottom of the floor board and replaced in the 18th century with an very interesting repair.
