More information

Henry VIII clampfront linenfold chest of rare form, this important chest with its untouched dry as bone surface, with three linenfold panels sub divided into six panels. The front and rear legs cutout, typically found on welsh chests from the period. The top with an applied moulding giving a framed appearance. Both the applied framing and stiles and rails all have a ribbed moulding, comparable to a chest pictured in Richard Bebbs book on Welsh furniture, page 152, fig:246. This chest too has cutout feet the same as chest here.
