Description

Oak settle, recovered from an old farmhouse near Barnstaple, Devon. Completely original in structure, this settle was never intended to go up against a wall, the end with the arm would have probably been at the side of the fire place and other facing the room. Panelled to stop drafts, the back has be planed and top three panels carved for decoration.
