Description

Renaissance marriage casket, with carved decoration, the front are two medallions with the heads of a man and a woman facing each other. The medallions are surrounded by floral wreaths and scrolls, with each side having two large roses typical of Tudor English work and the back panel carved with diaper and guilloche designs, the lid also carved with a central medallion with floral designs.

Henry VIII would have had similar boxes and caskets of this form and design in his palaces
