Description

Early 16th century southern Netherlands tapestry fragment depicting two men possibly of royal or nobel form. Signed BB at the bottom.

The market was strongly regulated and from 1528 it became obligatory for weavers to sign their tapestries with an accompanying BB denoting Brussels Brabant
