James I oak carved triangular joined stool, with S-scroll carved frieze rails with applied carved spandrels beneath . The three baluster turned supports with high joined stretcher rails (once with pot board attached). Triangular stools are rare in form. Replaced top. Provenance: The Metropolitan Museum, New York.
