Description

Late Gothic oak French dressoir. Carved with tracery doors and flanking panels, and with the original carved tracery drawers. The sides with three linenfold panels, pot board base. The front pendant finial with a stamped symbol, possibly an ecclesiastical inventory mark. The top board with an alms slot. Missing its high backed tracery section some small patch repairs

Another dressoir – buffet from the same workshop is illustrated in Victor Chinnery, Oak Furniture the British tradition page 34, fig 3:330 and sold in Sothebys 18th November 2003 for £72,000.
